Boko Haram bombers kill 20 at camp in northeast Nigeria

At least 27 people were killed in suicide bombing attacks in Nigeria on Tuesday, Reuters reported citing local media.

One or two of the bombers went to a nearby camp for people displaced by Nigeria's conflict with Boko Haram, and at least one stayed at the market, Mr. Kalli said.

Konduga is located in an area where the Boko Haram Islamist group is operating.

While traders were trying to close their shops and evacuate their wares, two female bombers hit the market "almost simultaneously", said another civilian vigilante, Usman Grema.

Village chief Lawan Kalli said on Tuesday that the bombers entered the market around 5 pm (local time) posing as buyers. All the bombers then detonated their explosives nearly simultaneously, he said.

China to implement United Nations sanctions on North Korea
Imports were up an annual 60.3 per cent at 1.34 million tonnes worth an estimated US$68 million in the January-June period. In an editorial, the state-owned China Daily newspaper said Trump was asking too much of China over North Korea.

Musa Bura, a youth volunteer in nearby Konduga, said most members of the local defense force were on guard at the market and not at the nearby camp. Boko Haram provoked global outrage by kidnapping more than 200 schoolgirls - internationally known as the Chibok Girls - in April 2014.

But correspondents say that the army is failing to stop the attacks, and people have continued to flee their homes in Borno State and poured into camps.

Its better-known faction, led by Abubakar Shekau, has mainly based itself in the sprawling Sambisa forest, and been characterised by its use of women and children as suicide bombers targeting mosques and markets.

Last month, an oil prospecting team was captured by al Barnawi's group.

Boko Haram's eight-year insurgency has displaced millions in Nigeria and neighboring countries and has killed more than 20,000 people. At least 37 people, including members of the team, died during the rescue operation.
