Larson s vehicle was subsequently penaized for an infraction and instead of starting in front Larson will see Sunday s green flag from the back of the field. Kyle Larson was the original victor of the Coors Light Pole Award, but his time was disallowed after failing post-qualifying inspection.

Larson's team was penalized 35 points Wednesday, erasing what had been a one-point advantage over Martin Truex the driver standings.

There will be no further penalties for Larson's team.

According to USA Today, Larson's crew chief, Chad Johnston, has been suspended three races and fined $75,000 after Larson's No. 42 Chevrolet failed a post-race inspection following Saturday night's race. Tony Lunders is serving as interim crew chief.

Martin Truex Jr. posted the fastest single lap in the second practice session for the Overton's 301 at New Hampshire. "I don't honestly know what it was that got us in trouble".

"We've been working on it for a couple of years really", Truex before pole qualifying runs last night. Joe Gibbs Racing tries to grab its first win of the season.

Johnson, the seven-time Cup champion, will start in the top five for the first time this season. Furniture Row Racing driver Erik Jones, who will replace Kenseth, starts seventh. In his 22 starts at NHMS, Truex has no wins, three top-five and eight top-10 finishes with a 13.7 average finish.

FORMULA ONE: After setting the pace in practice for the British Grand Prix, Valtteri Bottas was hit by a five-place penalty on the grid at Silverstone, England.

The sanction was imposed because of an unscheduled gearbox change. Bottas had outpaced Mercedes teammate Lewis Hamilton by less than a tenth of a second.
