HTC reportedly working on a new mid-range smartphone featuring Edge Sense

Apparently, the Taiwanese tech giant has plans to unveil a new budget phone codenamed HTC Ocean Life.

The leaked image has stated that the smartphone is going to be a mid-range smartphone and hence, the specs are definitely not going to be of the best quality available on the market. The specs include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor, putting it firmly in mid-range territory, but it doesn't say how much RAM will be joined on to it. And HTC will be adding the same Edge Sense technology to Ocean Life as well.

Both the front and rear camera are said to sport 16 MP sensors, though we don't expect them to be of quality on par with the U11's. Specifically, the Edge Sense "grip" feature will be coming to this phone, something only the U11 has for now. He posted a long list of specifications which may find their way to the handset, asserting that it'll run on the brand's Sense 9.0 UI which in turn is based on Android 7.1.1 Nougat.

Showers and Thunderstorms Staying Through the Weekend
The best chance for storm development will be along and south of I-70, with the chance for a few isolated showers to the north. Sunday evening the front moves south, and we will clear out providing good weather for fireworks Sunday night also.

But in this day and age of frequently discounted "Infinity Display" Android flagships and outright affordable "Full Vision" hero phones, can the HTC U11 keep up its solid box-office pace with traditionally prominent bezels and minimal price reductions? It's also likely this phone will lack at a headphone jack, instead including the company's USonic USB-C headphones.

Further details of the smartphone are bound to come to the fore in the upcoming days.

What's even more interesting is that the Ocean Life is said to come with the Edge Sense technology, which made its debut on the company's flagship smartphone, the U11.
