Andy Murray pulls out of Hurlingham exhibition match with sore hip

It is understood, though, that this was no more than a precautionary measure and there is no real cause for concern before his opening match as the defending champion on Wimbledon's Centre Court next Monday.

French Open semi-finalist Murray was the favourite to win the Aegon Championships, which finished on Sunday, and win a third successive Queen's Club crown but crashed at the first hurdle.

"It's big for us to win at Queen's, one of the strongest fields in the year... and it gives us great confidence ahead of Wimbledon", Jamie, the elder brother of world number one singles player Andy Murray, told Reuters on Tuesday.

The decision was described as a precaution, with Murray still planning to play the second match against an as-yet-unnamed opponent in west London on Friday.

The pair, who won the Australian Open and the U.S. Open previous year, are now looking ahead to Wimbledon, where they reached the quarter-finals in 2016.

'I think, yeah, I think we'd probably quite like to.

Both have enjoyed success at Wimbledon, with Jamie winning the mixed doubles back in 2007 and Andy a two-time victor in the singles.

"I'm pretty sure before they get to the end of their careers they're going to have a crack at Wimbledon doubles together", Judy said.

"Andy didn't play so well but we've been a bit spoilt with him over the years", Jamie said with a smile.
