Police say Tiger Woods' car showed fresh damage

Jack Nicklaus voiced his concern for Tiger Woods on Tuesday, saying the 14-time major victor "needs our help" after he was arrested for DUI early Monday morning.

In this December 4, 2016, file photo, Tiger Woods watches his tee shot on the third hole during the final round at the Hero World Challenge golf tournament in Nassau, Bahamas. And I think he needs all our help. "And I wish him well", Nicklaus said.

"What you are witnessing right now before your very eyes is not just an individual who has fallen from grace, it's an individual that finds it very hard to look himself in the mirror, because he knows he got busted by the entire world for being the liar and the phony that he was at that particular moment in time", Smith said.

"I understand when a guy is hurting as bad as he was and probably is, that he went and did what he did", Nicklaus said.

Woods was heading south, away from his Jupiter Island home, before his arrest at about 3 a.m. (0700 GMT) on Monday, according to the report. I didn't realise the mix of medications had affected me so strongly.

According to an incident report obtained by TMZ, an investigation of Woods' Mercedes revealed what was described by officers as "fresh damage" to the auto. However, he did reveal that he tried to assist Woods in getting help on his back at the Masters before Woods underwent a fourth surgery, this time a spinal fusion on his lower back. Torix and Vioxx are anti-inflammatory medications; Vicodin a painkiller.

"It should be noted that Woods was asleep at the wheel and had to be woken up", the affidavit said. This Woods was found asleep in his damaged Mercedes in the dead of night, with his brake lights on, his right blinker flashing, his bumpers banged up, and his two driver-side tires flat. Woods moved slowly, Palladino wrote in his report, but eventually got the vehicle in park and opened the window.

According to an incident report, police described fresh damage to the driver's side of the vehicle - both tires were flat, along with minor damage to the rims.

Police say Tiger Woods was asleep at the wheel but had no alcohol in his system when officers spotted his auto stopped along a Florida road. Woods, 41, blamed the incident on medications. Woods tried to tie his shoes by placing his foot on the grill of the cruiser and almost lost his balance, and eventually he just took them off.

Woods was cooperative, and blew 0.00 on a breathalyser test. He was released later on his own recognizance.

Woods is set to be arraigned for his DUI charge on July 5, according to the Palm Beach Post. Police say golf great T. He was alone in the auto.

Woods is considered the world's greatest golfer, winning 14 majors and 79 career victories on the PGA tour.

Woods hasn't won a major tournament since 2008 when he clinched the US Open in sudden death over Rocco Mediate.

Discussing his surgery, he wrote last week that he "hadn't felt this good in years", but added: "I'm not looking ahead".
