HTC U 11 leaks in video ahead of official launch

After months of rumors and leaks, HTC's much-awaited U11 was launched today at an event in Taipei, Taiwan.

In terms of overall design, the new HTC smartphone is pretty sleek with clean metallic backplate, an improvement from the basic design of the outgoing HTC 10, as per report from The Verge. According to the new report, this tech will not feature the touch sensor, which previously rumored in the device.

The S8 does also support Google Assistant, and has its own artificial intelligence program, called Bixby, but full support for Bixby is yet to launch in the UK. HTC says that the level of force can also be adjusted.

And the computational photography trend continues, with HTC using "HDR Boost" for better photos and "temporal noise reduction" to reduce noise in videos. Theoretically, this makes the HTC U11 a sibling to Amazon Alexa or Google Home. As for the price, the phone will start at €749 in Europe and possibly $749 in the U.S. It'll be available in Amazon Silver, Brilliant Black, Ice White, Sapphire Blue and Solar Red color variants. The HTC U11 is also IP67-certified, which means it is both water (up to 1 meter and 30 minutes) and dust resistant and comes with a glass back.

HTC 11 sports a 5.5-inch Quad HD Super LCD 5 display with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels. Under the hood, it will be powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor clocked at 2.4GHz along with Adreno 540 GPU. However, other details were not revealed. While HTC users in some regions will be getting the new flagship device with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage, in others, customers will receive 6GB RAM and 128GB of internal memory. The U11 costs £649 in the United Kingdom and is expected to ship on June 1. The UltraPixel 3 camera in HTC U11 has five-axis image stabilization and dual pixel auto focus.

The device comes with a 12MP rear camera and a 16MP front shooter.

The device comes with 3D audio recording capability and features omnidirectional four microphones which help it to capture the audio from all directions while recording something.

Also, the squeezable frame feature of the upcoming HTC U11, which has been in speculations, gets a new update. HTC says that with this feature the audio levels are tied in with zoom-in functionality of the smartphone.

If music is your thing then the U11 packs some punch with HTC's USonic Boomsound Hi-Fi Edition speakers blasting out some serious sound.

HTC has also abandoned the standard 3.5mm headphone jack and is relying on its USB Type-C port for charging, data transfer, and audio function. In addition to the headphones, HTC is including a USB-C to 3.5mm adapter for use with other headphones, which it didn't for the U Ultra. Pricing and availability are unannounced.
