Mindy Kaling's Newark diss ... and a dinner with Cory Booker? | The Auditor

Mindy Kaling might just be at the heart of a Twitter love story, with none other than New Jersey Senator Cory Booker.

Mindy Kaling is living out a romantic comedy plot! The New Jersey senator and former mayor of Newark got wind of Mindy's joke on her show and tweeted at her on March 23.

Cory Booker put up a flirtatious offer to actress Mindy Kaling over Twitter on Thursday.

Ouch! @MindyKaling, heard Dr. Lahiri dissed Newark last night.

It didn't take long for the official Twitter account for the PATH commuter train line between New Jersey and NY to help by offering the trains' schedules.

Kaling was quick to reply with in equally lighthearted tone, assuring Booker that if her character "shades" it, "it means we know it's cool". "Thanks for the clarification", he tweeted.

Cory then tweeted, "You are making my day!"

"And If the [love] is really mutual." he wrote, "Come have dinner with me in Newark? I guess anything to get away from Newark".

The PATH train Twitter account then got in on the fun, sending a link to its train schedule to Booker and Kaling, prompting Kaling to tweet back a string of kissy face emojis. "I will send one to you for the door to door". She, in her own way, has given motivation to millions of girls both white and colored that you can get as far as you yourself allow.
