Trump 'not happy about' Price's taxpayer-funded private jet use

Health and Human Services Secretary Tom Price has twice used a private jet, paid for with taxpayer funds, to travel to destinations where he owns property, Politico reports.

During a wild and widely panned speech at the Boy Scout Jamboree in July, President Donald Trump famously threatened, tongue in cheek, to fire Tom Price if he did not help get Obamacare repealed and replaced.

Meanwhile, the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee sent detailed travel records requests to the White House and 24 departments and agencies, dating back to Trump's first day in office.

Government officials, with the exception of those dealing directly with national security matters, are required to take commercial flights for work-related travel. Politico found that since May, Price has taken 26 flights on corporate jets, and in several cases, there were commercial flights available to his destinations.

The HHS Office of Inspector General is investigating whether Price's travel fell within federal travel regulations, and this week the House of Representatives launched its own probe.

Lawmakers are demanding records by October 10.

Joey Barton: 'Liverpool have a Championship defence and the wrong attitude'
As the interpreter began to translate his response, Klopp said: 'Actually it's not important. He was in good shape before his back problems and now he's in good shape again, ' he said.

"I was looking into it, and I will look into it, and I will tell you personally I'm not happy about it", Trump responded.

Mr Price's trips have included flying from Washington DC to Nashville for the afternoon, where he spent less than 90 minutes at two scheduled events and had lunch with his son, who lives in the Tennessee city.

Asked if he has confidence in Price, Johnson went to speak, then stopped himself and walked away.

Richard Painter, the top ethics lawyers in the Bush/Cheney administration, described Price's travel practices as "highly unprofessional and really inappropriate". I am not happy with it.

"We'll see", Mr. Trump said. I'm going to look at it. "I'm not happy about it and I let him know it". That sort of hectoring and public penny-pinching became part of Price's persona, helping in his rise to chair of the powerful House Budget Committee, where he repeatedly proposed massive cuts to social programs aiding the poor, the elderly and the ill.

"The rules that I thought were the rules that we operated under, were: commercial travel - economy", she said.
