Trump consults with UK, Australia leaders on North Korea

Yesterday the South's military launched a volley of ballistic missiles simulating an attack on the North's nuclear test site.

The THAAD systems will be deployed on Thursday at a new base in Seongju, 300 kilometers (186 miles) from Seoul, the Yonhap agency reported, citing the Ministry of National Defense, Sputnik reported.

On Sunday, North Korea carried out its sixth and most powerful nuclear test in further defiance against worldwide pressure over its nuclear and missile programs.

The ministry said four launchers for the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (Thaad) antimissile system will be placed in the Seongju base to counter the mounting North Korean nuclear and missile threats. The protesters said the deployment will begin at 2 a.m. Thursday, but the Defense Ministry refused to confirm the time.

Moon said Wednesday that the situation could get out of hand if North Korea's missile and nuclear tests aren't stopped.

The United States on Monday launched a bid at the UN Security Council to quickly slap the "strongest possible measures" on North Korea in response to its sixth and most powerful nuclear test, but China and Russian Federation argued that diplomatic talks were needed to address the crisis.

Tigers trade Justin Upton to Angels
So far this season, Upton has accounted for 28 home runs and 94 RBI while sporting a.379 wOBA, his highest since the 2011 season. For a player to be eligible for a team's postseason roster, he must be with the organization prior to the start of September.

There are now two launchers at the location, a former golf course.

Meanwhile, Russian President Vladimir Putin warned on Wednesday that the North Korean nuclear crisis can not be resolved by sanctions alone, and urged the global community not to push Pyongyang into a corner.

The United States is considering, in addition to other options, stopping all trade with any country doing business with North Korea.

Putin made the remarks Wednesday after meeting with South Korean President Moon Jae-in in Vladivostok, Russia.

Trump also discussed North Korea's purported hydrogen bomb test with Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull.

"Without political and diplomatic tools, it is very hard to shift the situation" on the Korean peninsula, Putin said.

Russian Federation and China have proposed a "double-freeze" plan which would see Pyongyang suspend its nuclear and ballistic missile tests in exchange for a halt in joint US-South Korea military drills. Washington rejects the proposal; Putin insisted it "offers a genuine way to defuse the tensions and a step-by-step settlement".
