Missing Alabama Woman Found Alive in the Woods

Missing Alabama Woman Found Alive in the Woods

She also had no shoes, phone or purse - and was located in thousands of acres of isolated forests with no houses or roads nearby.

She's now at home recovering.

The missing woman's discovery came after Theris made it to the wood line on Highway 82 and was spotted by a driver around 2pm on Saturday.

"A motorist from Florida was driving 82 east of Midway and saw something moving in the bushes", Sheriff Raymond Rodgers said to WSFA. She said she spent the last four weeks trying to navigate her way out of the woods but ended up going around in circles. She stayed, and I called 911 and told them I had found a girl on the road... She was taken to an emergency room and treated after being exposed to such elements.

He added: "She had been out lost in the woods".

In order to survive, Theris told the sheriff she had been drinking water out of a brook and eating berries and mushrooms. She lost almost 50 pounds during the time she was lost, said police. Police officials said the college student is alive and well, and that is the most important thing right now.

"I started shaking. I was crying, I was scared, and I didn't know what to do", Garner told NBC of her own reaction. "I don't think she could have made it much longer", Garner recalled telling Lisa.

"The bugs had really been on her and she had a lot of scratch marks". "And maybe she could give us some insight and fill in the blank spaces". By the time she was rescued this weekend, she had lost 50 pounds. Her family had filed a missing report on July 23.

The case was later handed over to the BCSO when it was believed that Theris had been with three men who are accused of burglarizing a hunting camp in Midway.

Minneapolis to Make Play for Federation Internationale de Football Association 2026 World Cup
The first sporting event ever held at the stadium was a 2016 International Champions Cup match between A.C. The joint North American bid is widely deemed as a favourite to win as the only competitor is Morocco.

The two men, Manley Davis, 31, and Randall Oswald, 36, were reportedly arrested for allegedly stealing $40,000 (£31,000) worth of items that included ATVS (quad bikes) and chainsaws.

Sheriff Rodgers said because Lisa Theris is not familiar with the wilderness region of Alabama, she likely got lost in the woods after running away from Davis and Oswald and got lost when it turned dark.

We are told she likewise lived and worked in Mobile a couple of years prior.

The investigation into what happened is still ongoing and there are many questions surrounding the burglary, the two suspects and Lisa's disappearance.

"We don't have the total details on everything yet", Sgt Chad Faulkner told the station. We want to make sure her health is good so we got her on to the hospital. "So when I got word she was found alive, my whole world flipped upside down again".

Theris has now been reunited with her family, but has declined to talk to the press. Alive. But how in the hell did Theris end up in that situation to begin with?

Faulkner said Theris' survival has been a "relief" to the entire department.

"She's in severe pain, but is slowly improving", he said. 'There is not an inch of her that has not been affected.' .
