WhatsApp achieves 1 billion daily active users mark

Interestingly WhatsApp has grown more than two folds after it was acquired by Facebook in 2014.

WhatsApp past year announced that it has reached one billion monthly active users and now the chat app has hit another landmark of having one billion active users daily.

It is not just WhatsApp that has released its numbers, Facebook, which now owns WhatsApp has also announced that it now has 2 billion monthly active users.

WhatsApp revealed that 4.5bn images are shared daily, 1bn videos are also shared daily, and 55bn messages, across 60 languages, are sent every 24 hours.

"Just previous year, we shared that one billion people around the world use WhatsApp every month", it said in the post.

Death threats over Charlie Gard case
The hospital believes that 11-month-old Charlie has suffered irreversible brain damage that treatment can not fix . The case has garnered worldwide attention and even drawn comment from President Donald Trump and Pope Francis.

The original subscription fee was stopped after Facebook bought the company for £11.4 billion in 2016.

However, it now looks like the new feature has become part of every WhatsApp user's life.

With so many users being active on the app, the company says that it witnesses 55 billion messages exchanged with contacts, which is an astonishing number for a messenger app to achieve.

WhatsApp for iOS will soon allow users to watch YouTube videos directly within the app. Once rolled out, companies can create a business account on the platform, which will enable them to communicate with their customers, and vice versa. WhatsApp is supposed to roll out services, which could allow businesses like banks, airlines, etc to interact directly with the customers on the messaging platform. "I think there, we're further along with Messenger than we are with WhatsApp". That means it has eclipsed Snapchat itself, which only has 166 million daily users altogether.
