Police say the blast was reported around 10:30 p.m. Monday in Bixby, about 15 miles (24 kilometers) south of Tulsa. Officials from the FBI and ATF, the federal agency in charge of investigating bombs, are also present should the explosion fall under their jurisdiction - for example if it is classified an act of domestic terrorism.

A United States Air Force recruiting office near Tulsa, Oklahoma was bombed on Monday evening.

The FBI, the ATF and local authorities said they are investigating an explosion at a U.S. Air Force recruitment office in Bixby, Okla. Rice added the exact type of bomb used in the attack on the military facility can not yet be confirmed.

The office was closed at the time of the explosion and no one was injured, according to the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Witnesses vaguely describe the suspect as being a person on a red motorcycle.

One victim is in critical condition, three are in fair condition and one is in stable condition according to the hospital. Three children were shot; their injuries, however, were not life-threatening, the report said.

The front doors are visibly damaged and no injuries have been reported. But terrorism has not been ruled out as a possible motive.

Several days before the Tulsa area Air Force recruiting center was bombed, a National Guard recruiting center in the area was vandalized.

The incident has not officially been called a domestic terrorism case, but the investigation is ongoing. The FBI has not yet determined if the two criminal incidents at the respective recruiting centers are linked.
