Taxi strikes pedestrians near Boston airport; several injured

A vehicle struck a group of pedestrians at Boston's Logan International Airport on Monday, the Massachusetts State Police said on Twitter.

The driver was cooperating with authorities and was "known to be a very nice gentleman", McGinn said.

There were serious injuries in the crash.

Police say several people were injured, some seriously. The Associated Press said the driver was 56 years old.

Multiple law enforcement sources say the incident is being investigated as an accident, CBS News justice and homeland security correspondent Jeff Pegues reports. The crash appears to have been unintentional and is not being considered an act of terror, police said.

According to Massachusetts State Police Media Relations, preliminary reports indicate that there are several pedestrians with injuries that vary in their severity.
