Derrick Rose, Cavaliers Discussing One-Year Deal

The Los Angeles Lakers will make their best pitch to free agent point guard Derrick Rose during their meeting today in hopes to lure him away from signing with the Cleveland Cavaliers, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

After signing Kentavious Caldwell-Pope to a one-year deal, the Lakers still have roster space to sign at least two free agents to complete their team.

Not only are the Cavaliers pursuing the former MVP/overhyped role player, so are the Lakers. The Lakers have expressed interest in Clark in recent weeks for various reasons, but no offer will be made until they have clarity on Rose's interest. A Kyrie-Rose backcourt is also intriguing for super small ball lineups, which I guess can work against certain matchups.

ESPN's Brian Windhorst reports Rose would sign a one-year deal with the Cavaliers. The Cavaliers are the defending Eastern Conference champions.

The expectations were high, as even Rose himself called the new Knicks a "super team" in a conversation with Lang Whitaker of NBA.com.

Meetings on eve of Parliament session
The Rajya Sabha also paid tributes to its sitting members Anil Madhav Dave and P Govardhan Reddy who passed away recently. Meanwhile, the polling for the President election is underway at the Parliament and the various state Assemblies.

Come home, D. Rose, come home. Both played for coach Jeff Hornacek when he was with Phoenix.

Rose, a former MVP award victor, is looking to continue his career rehab after multiple injuries. Despite a year off from the physicality of an National Basketball Association season, Rose has had three more operations on his knees over the last five years.

Last season with the New York Knicks, Rose averaged 18 points and four rebounds and assists on 47 percent shooting from the field. Ball likely will start for the Purple and Gold, but Rose wouldn't be a bad addition as a backup point guard.

The Knicks probably will need to get a point guard through a trade. His three point shooting was awful, though, at just 21.7-percent, a career low.
