Mugshot of Reality Winner, who is being held at Lincoln County Jail in Georgia. Federal prosecutors want victor held without bond.

Reality Winner has pleaded not guilty in the federal court to charges in connection with removing classified material from a government facility and giving it to an authorised person. Victor remained locked up Tuesday, June 6 on federal charges that she made copies of classified documents containing top-secret material and mailed them to an online news organization.

Wearing an orange jumpsuit and leg shackles, victor pleaded not guilty in US district court to charges that she illegally retained and transmitted national defense information. Prosecutors don't think victor is a jihadist or terrorist sympathizer, they say that before she left the military, she inserted an external hard drive into a top-secret computer there.

"Winner further acknowledged that she was aware of the contents of the intelligence reporting and that she knew the contents of the reporting could be used to the injury of the United States and to the advantage of a foreign nation", the report said. She could also face a fine of up to $250,000.

The parents of a US government contractor charged with leaking classified documents to a news organization insist she's not a flight risk and should be released from jail before her trial.

Victor has been in local custody since her arrest and is expected to be taken into formal federal custody on Thursday.

"She is scared that they won't let her out", said mother Billie-Jean Davis, according to CBS.

Her mother and stepfather offered no comment after victor was denied bond, but previously defended their daughter to the media. She's never run away from anything in her life.

Victor had top security clearance from her time serving in the Air Force for six years. "But we do know she's very intelligent". A further audit of the six individuals' desk computers revealed that victor had e-mail contact with the News Outlet. Victor also had photos of the document on her cellphone, which she gave over to the FBI, Solari said.

"Because my client is a millennial and she knows how to use technology, that's somehow proof of evil intent", Nichols said Thursday after his client was denied bail.

The four factors he had to consider: the type of offense, the weight of the evidence, Winner's character and the potential danger to the community or the risk of flight, Epps said.

When prosecutors questioned Winner-Davis about her daughter telling her to "play that angle", she said it was true.

Winner's attorney, Titus Nichols, did not immediately return a call seeking comment Thursday. In numerous news stories, unnamed sources allege victor gave it to a reporter at The Intercept.

"This is a 25-year-old girl who served her country with admiration and distinction", Davis said. But the secretive nature of her job didn't stop victor from speaking freely on politics and other topics on social media accounts accessible to anyone.
