Iran says Saudis suspected of being behind terror attacks

"We have intelligence that Saudi Arabia is actively engaged in promoting terrorist groups on the eastern side of Iran, in Baluchistan", Zarif told a news conference held on the sidelines of a conference on peace mediation in Oslo.

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif in a meeting with his Slovakian counterpart Miroslav Lajčák in Oslo underlined that the only solution to political disputes is holding dialogue and political solution.

The Slovakian foreign minister, for his part, extended condolences to Zarif over the recent terrorist attacks on Tehran which killed 17 people and injured 52 others.

"On the Western side the same type of activity is being undertaken, again by using the diplomatic hospitality of other neighbours", Zarif said. "We condemn terrorist attacks anywhere they occur and we condemn the killing of the innocent anywhere it occurs", he said.

He stated that the United States can not be trusted as it is the embodiment of terrorism itself and supports regimes such as Israel which came to be through terrorism and oppression.

Following the incident, the so-called Abdullah Azzam Brigades claimed responsibility for the bombings.
