Melissa McCarthy motors through NY dressed as Sean Spicer

Chief among the protagonists have been Melissa McCarthy and Alec Baldwin, two Irish American actors who are in danger of permanent stereotyping given how good their take-offs of press secretary Sean Spicer and President Trump have become.

Spicer, played by McCarthy, lashed out at the mock press corps over questions about Russian Federation and Trump's firing of former Federal Bureau of Investigation direct James Comey.

"Were you surprised that he fired Comey before he fired you?" one journalist inquired. In a pathos-inducing sequence, Spicer scours the streets of New York City on a motorized podium searching for his pal. With the first question Spicer calls on Glenn Thrush of the New York Times, who asked if Spicer agreed that President Trump was unhinged because recent tweets. Like Baldwin, McCarthy has effectively turned into an honorary cast member, thanks to her Spicer.

"Yes", Trump said simply before he embraced Spicer and the pair began to make-out passionately.

They gave us an anxious Spicer, searching for Donald Trump, desperate to prove to himself and the press that his friend does care about him and would never use him to perpetuate a lie. However, it turns out the role of the gum-chewing White House Press Secretary nearly went to an entirely different person. Period. OK? Then he hired lawyers to agree with him.

After teasing Melissa McCarthy's return as Sean Spicer in several promos, "Saturday Night Live" did not disappoint. "You like when I do that Sean?"

Timeless: Season Two Renewal; NBC Reverses Cancellation
As viewers of the show, the priority now has to be finding a way to secure more viewers for many years to come. NBC went back in time and un-canceledTimeless in a surprising reversal, giving the freshman series season 2.

At the same time, SNL writers had been watching Spicer's first few press briefings. "I'm famous, it's okay".

"Wait - is this like "The Godfather" where you kiss me and no one ever sees me again?"

After not quite making the club previous year, McCarthy was genuinely surprised and moved when Steve Martin (who has hosted 15 times) appeared at the end of the show to present her with her own Five-Timers smoking jacket.

Responded a stunned Holt, "Did I get him?". "I need to find Trump!"

But the pivotal moment is when McCarthy whips out some nesting dolls to explain how the Trump administration could botch the dismissal of someone even liberals wanted fired. The faux President also opened the show in an interview with NBC anchor Lester Holt, who was played by Michael Che.
