All-New Hyundai Kona Sub-compact SUV Teased

The image revealed by Hyundai gives an indication of the Kona's aggressive new design language.

"KONA is a model that notifies Hyundai's entry into the small-sized SUV market that is leading the global SUV craze", the company said in a statement.

Hyundai confirmed it will join Europe's booming subcompact crossover segment with a new model called the Kona, ending months of speculation about the vehicle.

The Hyundai Kona continues the marque's tradition of naming crossover and SUV models after acclaimed travel destinations - including the Santa Fe and Tucson. Its name was inspired by a region in Hawaii, and boy, it looks as awesome!

Both the Mazda CX-3 and Honda HR-V are two of the bestselling subcompact SUV in the world but their position in the market is now being threatened by Hyundai.

Hyundai has not unveiled the car's final styling, or said when the vehicle will be revealed. The South Korean manufacturer has just announced the arrival of a new SUV!

Kona is based on the i30 platform, with the design derived from Intrado concept vehicle unveiled at the Geneva Auto Show in 2014.

We are expecting to see number of new teasers and hints about the auto as the day pf release will approach. It will be the fourth and smallest crossover in the brand's European lineup, joining the Grand Santa Fe, Santa Fe and Tucson. Last year, the top seller Tivoli sold 28,886 units. The company has started releasing teasers about its latest SUV.
