LG Working On A SteamVR-Powered VR Headset In Collaboration With Valve

According to the press release, the VR HMD (Head Mounted Display) prototype will be shown in Valve's booth at the conference, and "the LG HMD prototype is created to deliver a high fidelity, next generation VR experience". However, it is quite possible the company will reveal the headset during Valve's GDC 2017 booth next week. The VR headset is expected to directly compete with the Oculus Rift and HTC's Vive.

Valve who had earlier partnered with HTC to make HTC Vive, let the world know of this piece of information by mistake, when it let slip that the company was building a new VR headset using its SteamVR Technology. We do not have any relationship with manufacturers, and all product choices are made by our editors, themselves.

With this new VR headset, it appears as though that LG is planning to take a different approach when it comes to virtual reality.

Paul Ryan: 'I believe' Trump supports entitlement reform for future generations
Ryan said it was clear Russian Federation was trying to meddle in the election. "Not in the least", he said. They gave us a system where costs went up not down.

But now LG may be about to enter the space in direct cahoots with Valve itself. The incorporation of the OpenVR platform would mean that the LG VR headset would include SteamVR tracking.

Valve confirmed that a prototype headset will be shown off this week at the Games Developer Conference (GDC) by the South Korean tech. firm.

Because LG's supposed headset is still in the prototype phase, details such as a release date, price, or region availability have been left unannounced.
