Andrew Puzder, President Donald Trump's pick for Labor Secretary, has just withdrawn himself as nominee for the position.
Joseph Guzman, an assistant professor at Michigan State University, and Catherine Templeton, former head of the SC labor department, were also potential candidates, Bloomberg reported, citing a White House official.
Senate Democrats are expected to oppose Puzder's nomination. A White House spokesperson had no immediate comment. Marco Rubio and other Hispanic leaders are enthused about the pick.

Puzder, who now serves as CEO of CKE Restaurants, Inc., the parent of Carl's Jr. and Hardee's, has also come under pressure amid revelations he once employed an undocumented immigrant as a housekeeper. "They're very hard-working, dedicated, creative people that really appreciate the fact that they have a job", Puzder said. In her five-minute interview, she said she had called the cops on her husband, and that he told her "I will see you in the gutter".
