Natalie Portman will not attend Oscars due to pregnancy

Portman is now pregnant with her second child, and as she nears her due date, it seems she's just not up for all the fanfare of the Academy Awards. The couple, who met while filming Black Swan, are parents to 5-year-old Aleph.

The Oscar nominee, lauded in the lead actress category for playing Jacqueline Kennedy in the biopic "Jackie" has announced she won't be attending Sunday's ceremony, citing her pregnancy.

It can be noted that the actress had won Oscars for best actress for "Black Swan", five years ago, when she was pregnant with her first child. Even though Natalie won't be there, she'll be up against some stiff competition for Best Actress.

Meanwhile, Emma Stone is hotly tipped to win tonight's Best Actress award for her role in musical La La land. The movie depicts her life after the assassination of her husband, President John F. Kennedy.
