ISIS Claims Responsibility For Rockets Fired On Southern Israel From Sinai

No air raid sirens were activated, as the IDF determined that the missiles would land in empty, open territory.

The attack occurred a day after the terrorist group said that five members of its Sinai Peninsula branch were killed in a drone attack by Israel late on Saturday, according to the media.

"This morning projectiles launched from Sinai hit an open area in southern Israel. The discourse of Israeli drones hovering over Sinai are part of IS propaganda aiming to allege that there is an absence of Egyptian sovereignty over the peninsula", he added.

The military says Israeli forces are searching the area following Monday's attack. "No injuries have been reported".

In response to the statements from Liberman, a former undersecretary of the Egyptian General Intelligence Apparatus (Al Mukhabarat al A'amah) Hatem Bashat told Daily News Egypt on Tuesday that Liberman's statements, that carry a hint of military response to the fired rockets from Sinai, are "meaningless" and have nothing to do with reality.

According to the report, the four were travelling in a vehicle in a Sinai village near Egyptian Rafah on the border with Gaza.

Victor Cruz says Panthers visit "went well", but nothing is imminent
Now the wide receiver is on the open market, and the Carolina Panthers seem to be-and should be-in play for his services. His role had been diminished late last season as a third option behind Odell Beckham Jr. and Sterling Shepard .

Mohammed Id, a Palestinian from Gaza, was reportedly among those killed in the strike.

On 9 February, a volley of rockets from Sinai targeted the southern Israeli resort city of Eilat, with three intercepted by the Iron Dome missile defence system and the fourth exploding outside of the city.

The images show a militant linked to the ISIS affiliate in Egypt, known as the Sinai Province, as he prepares two rockets prior to launching them from the restive Sinai Peninsula. The group said it had been launched "in order to teach the Jews and the crusaders a proxy war will not avail them of anything", and threatened future "calamitous" attacks.

Bashat asserted that Israel will not be able to respond to the rockets fired from Sinai against its territories because of the peace treaty signed in 1979.

It wasn't immediately clear who fired the shells but Islamic militants in Egypt's lawless Sinai have been behind a number of such attacks in recent years.
