On Thursday, a judge gave Patton sole legal and physical custody of Julian until the next hearing scheduled for February 24, with supervised visitation for Thicke three days a week at a neutral location.
In the actress' court filing seeking the restraining order, obtained by People, Patton claims Thicke physically abused her during their marriage. That episode, Patton says, was her breaking point. According to her statement, she and Thicke got into a fight in 2013 and he punched her in the upper body before pushing her to the ground and threatening to "bash her fucking head in". It would also be applied to their son Julian, 6, and her mother, Joyce Patton. The judge, according to the Daily News, acknowledged that Thicke has a "history of domestic violence" on the temporary restraining order and other court documents.
"Prior to our son's birth, I observed Robin to be an occasional user of alcohol and marijuana". He banged on the door and demanded to see his son, the actress' declaration said, then left only after Patton's mother called police.
Paula Patton's custody battle with Robin Thicke, 39, has taken a shocking and ugly turn on January 26.
PEOPLE has made further attempts to reach Thicke's representatives for response to Patton's specific allegations.
"This last incident with Robin was terrifying for me, " Patton wrote. "Writing that "[Patton] is trying to take a second bite of the apple", Thicke's lawyer has also reported that investigations have been dropped against him amid reports of child abuse for spanking his son. The order restricts Thicke's ability to travel outside Los Angeles County with his son. "I confirmed that I had been hearing the same things and that I did not know how to handle and was very concerned.[The] principal and [mediator] called Department of Child and Family Services on January 4, 2017, to report their concerns about [Thicke's] abuse of Julian".
It also comes just weeks after the death of Thicke's father, "Growing Pains" actor Alan Thicke.
That same year, Thicke's T.I and Pharrell collaboration "Blurred Lines" became the biggest hit of his career, and he hit the road to promote his album. She filed for divorce in October 2014, and their judgment was finalized a few months later.
