Resident Evil 7 has sold 2.5 million copies worldwide

As part of Capcom's ongoing efforts to expand the Resident Evil brand beyond the category of games, the newest Hollywood film, Resident Evil: The Final Chapter, recorded the film series' largest Japanese box-office opening yet after its December 23, 2016 release, and is slated to open worldwide starting today; additionally, the feature-length CG film Resident Evil: Vendetta is scheduled for a May 2017 worldwide release. That's a significant percentage of the 7.15 million demo downloads Capcom saw ahead of the game's release.

This data is taken from all the copies of the title that are already in the domestic market, although for now the possibility of enjoying it with a virtual reality glasses is only available through the PlayStation VR compatible with PlayStation 4.

It may not look like the Resident Evil games of old, but scratch beneath its grimy surface and you'll find that it bears numerous hallmarks that made Resident Evil such a classic horror series to begin with.

To think they were mortar shells though, and nothing more than more blanks across the bow of his Head Coach's desk, is foolish. The two-time Super Bowl champion wants to make sure continuing would be the "right thing" to do.

Resident Evil VII is out now for PS4, Xbox One and PC. More importantly, Resident Evil 7 runs at a lower resolution in VR, which pulls the significant level of detail that makes the game so damn immersive from the player.

Every movement, sound and shadow is enough to get the pulse racing, and it's even more nerve-wracking when you enter an brand new area for the first time, or come face to face with a twisted new foe. Biohazard draws from its roots with signature hallmarks of exploration, puzzle solving and tense atmosphere. Capcom didn't reveal how many of those units shipped to retail have turned into sales, but the full amount would put the series as a whole at over 75 million sales.

Regarding monsters and jump scares, Resident Evil 7 has you covered.

It's a resounding return to form for a franchise that's been on the ropes for years, as aside from the offshoot Revelations series - which gameplay-wise, continued where RE4 left off - both other main sequels chased the Gears of War crowd far too much, resulting in straight-up bad games with no definable identity.
