NY train derailment: 'I started flying to front of train'

A NY commuter train derailed Wednesday morning in Brooklyn, injuring dozens.

The Long Island Railroad train derailed at about 8.30am local time after it slammed into a bumper block while pulling into the station, New York Post reported.

New York's fire department reported at 10 a.m. that at least 76 people had suffered injuries, though none were life-threatening.

One of the passengers caught up in the incident said that it was her impression that the train was travelling faster than usual as it approached the terminal.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo said that thetrain struck the bumping block and came to an abrup halt. The National Transportation Safety Board said it is deploying investigators to the scene.

Ben Affleck Unsure If He'll Direct Standalone Batman Movie
The actor and director went on to talk about a conversation he had with Marty Brest about the real estate mogul. Ask him why he took the Batman role and he replies with characteristic honesty that he did it for his son.

"There's two tracks that are out the six tracks in Long Island Rail road, so one, two, four are still working", he said. The impact bent the train's doors and smashed windows.

MTA President Thomas Prendergast said there was some damage at the station but said everything should be running smoothly by afternoon rush hour.

"The LIRR obviously is the purview of the governor", Mayor de Blasio told reporters. A cause of the accident remains under investigation.

USA train engineers are required to undergo vision and hearing testing every three years, but federal regulations do not specify other medical examination standards. "Who was standing, they were thrown down the aisle". Tweets from the LIRR train crash scene corroborates that version of the story. Its 735 weekday trains transport about 265,000 customers on 700 miles of track.
