Aurora Police searching for missing 6-year-old boy

During a news conference Tuesday morning, Aurora Police Chief Nick Metz said Puckett's family has been notified the body was found and were "devastated". "We are not assuming anything", Metz said.

"Due to the passage of time, the impending weather, and out of an abundance of caution and to leave no stone unturned, CBI has issued an Amber Alert today at approximately 2:40 p.m.", the Police Department stated on Facebook.

McCoy said the authorities are especially concerned for David because it is so cold at night. Police say he voluntarily left and don't believe any foul play is involved.

Police say Fabian doesn't have a history of running away.

Denver-area police agencies and volunteers searched for David on Saturday night and New Year's Day with the help of a helicopter and a bloodhound. The boy's family is fully cooperating and the home has been searched several times, police said. Sobbing and tearful, she stated David is a good boy and very energetic.

The FBI have also reportedly been aiding the police department in conducting "thorough" neighborhood searches and providing their extensive resources.

David is described as a white male, 4 feet tall, weighing 48 pounds. He has light brown hair and blue-green eyes.
